When Pa Dubjubi raised his staff against me and threatened that I would be ending soon, I never hesitated to reverse it immediately with great ire in my spirit.

Pa Dubjubi was a well known dangerous native doctor in my home town and he was feared by all, including some leaders in the government house.

Being a Christian boy, I have always wondered what sort of power he possessed which cannot be subdued by God.

Apparently, I concluded he had no mystic powers even when others were sore afraid of him.

One day, I went to my Pastor after church service to ask him some sensitive questions and it was all about Pa Dubjubi.

Kenechukwu, how're you doing?

He asked after I had greeted him.

I'm doing good sir. I replied quickly and continued

I'd like to ask you something.

Stunned, he looked at me after he motioned me to go on. Then I was fifteen years old.

Are you familiar with one Pa Dubjubi sir? I asked.

He never replied immediately and I guess he thought about why I asked that because I was too young to talk about that heinous man.

I nodded in response and he finally spoke.

Yes I do!

Do you fear him? I blurted once more and now, my words were sounding more challenging even without my awareness then. I was only concerned about the downfall of Pa Dubjubi because I disliked his lifestyle with absolute disgust.

My Pastor answered even with more gentleness.

Alright sir. I'd like to deal with him. I disclosed and to my surprise, he opened his mouth so wide in amazement.

Yes sir. I can do that. I affirmed once more.

Despite my Pastor's advice to leave him and face my Christian journey now, I never concurred.

The next day, I started off to Pa Dubjubi's shrine. Even his visitors were amazed because I was fearless.

I walked into his place and sat down, looking straight into his eyes.

Suddenly, he glared at me and stood.

What is that young boy? Who do you seek?

I seek you! I replied still looking at him.

I've come to warn you. Your ways are evil. I don't believe you have power and that's why I'm advising you to change unless you'll be doomed...

While I yet talked, the elders there started to shout with their hands on their head.

Aru oo!! That was most of their exclamations.

That was when Pa Dubjubi threatened me and I reversed it back.

My Christian parents never supported that move of mine, including my Christian elders.

Gradually, I started to feel guilty until those feelings metamorphosed into something else.

Well, at a time, I started having the thought that Pa Dubjubi could harm me.

Honestly, it really affected me to the extent that I fell sick. My parents feared that I could die.

I vommited blood constantly and finally, I was rushed to the hospital.

There, my Pastor came.

Looking straight into my eyes he spoke powerful words to me.

Kenechukwu, Pa Dubjubi is powerless just like you once believed. He's doing nothing to you. You're the one doing yourself now my child.

Yes, everyone objected your challenge against him. However, you didn't go by your own power. God went with you.


You are powerful. Remove every impression of fear and you will become whole.

You're God's own child...

As he continued saying those words, I felt new strength and right away, I arose and became totally whole.

That was how I was able to build up my faith more even at my tender age.

Two months later, Pa Dubjubi died; maybe I would have been the one if I continued to fear.
