The whole atmosphere was filled with absolute bliss. I refreshed my spirit with my favourite gospel song while I drove down the road to my house.

It was a hectic day for me in the office but I had to take some excuses because we would be celebrating my first son's birthday at home. He was three then and how he came to be was a sheer testimony.

My husband strived really hard, persisting that we would be celebrating his 3rd birthday in a grand style and I had no choice but to concur.

While I was in the office, I was receiving his constant calls and I knew he now wanted me at home.

I was the general manager of one famous tech company in my state's capital city but my husband was self employed, so he chose to stay off-work and celebrate his son.

As I drove home that very day, I suddenly noticed a spot where people were gathered, surrounding a very young handsome man who spoke many words.

The scene caught my attention and I forgot entirely that I was rushing home. At once, I started to drive slowly and on getting there, I realized that the young man looked familiar.

He was a beggar, and too handsome for that. His own penury was devastating because he begged as though his whole life and survival depended on that.

In a twinkle of an eye, he started to share a story. In his words, he enjoined everyone to flee his past lifestyles.

I became instantly heartbroken when I discovered that he was my friend during my days in school, infact my very best friend!

I didn't ever believe that we will never marry because we were so closed.

Kennedy has been such a good boy and he was one of the reasons why I became the best version of myself.

I disembarked from my car and tears streamed my face.

Our both eyes soon contacted and he shut his mouth abruptly.

Throwing away his bags, he started to run towards my direction, even shouting.

Everyone was amazed and they looked forward to see where he was headed.

Lo, that was my direction! We hugged and I wept sore.

Hurriedly, I took him into the car because his situation has been very shameful.

Right in the car, I heard Kennedy's story. He joined his peers into living a reckless life. He wanted wealth by all means and now he was regretting it.

Really, he made that money but it costed him a lot.

When he was asked to sacrifice his mum, he declined and he was made poor for life. That was how he said it but I reprimanded him immediately, assuring him hope in God.

Indeed, he was so fortunate that God still got him in his heart. I preached to him, led him to Christ again and we both went home.

Later on, God blessed him with a brand new job in the company where I worked.

What a mighty God we serve!
