The moment mum called me to come and take my food in the kitchen, I jumped from my sleep and hurried as though one evil spirit was waiting to drag the food with me.

When I got there, my heart jumped out and I felt po0ped immediately. I had forgotten that we weren't rich and I was already getting ready to fill up my hungry stomach, which I have denied food since the previous day's afternoon.

What an agony!

The crux of it all was that I was having a nice dream that very hot morning before mum's call woke me. I was enjoying some local dishes all alone. Infact, I again felt tired of my reality as I glared at my food.

The plate of the jollof rice on the ground should be meant for Kenzy, our liitle dog because it was extremely small; however, It was mine and I had no choice.

After I had that thought, Kenzy came, barking, maybe so I would now do what I thinked about. I gave it a thorough beating not minding how small it was.

After that, I ate my food believing God for a better future.

Despite the fact that we weren't rich, we were always content with the little we had.

I was the only son of my parents and the stories that surrounded my birth always gave me hope.

My elder sister wasn't with us all through those moments. She was living with a family friend.

Always and constantly, I had this mindset that I was destined for greatness.

Even when I lived in lack, not being provided with the necessities of life, I knew I was great and that I would be in possession of many things soon.

At school, some of my friends would taunt me but I never lost focus at all.

After my secondary school, I decided to start working 9-5 job.

I made some little savings from it and invested in a promising business. That was how I started to grow, even though the growth was slow.

Upon all these, I remained humble, always putting God first.

One day, I received a call from one famous Christian politician in my State. That was when it dawned on me that my impact was public, just that no one ever wanted to react, but nevertheless, God has said it's time.

He invited me over and asked me some questions. Finally, he sponsored my business and now it's grown.

Currently, I have built a magnificent duplex for my amazing parents. My sister is levelling up in her career and I am massively growing too.

I have various investments which proves the fact we've bayed a permanent good bye to poverty!

God came through for me because I was determined, consistent and always putting him first. He can do same for you too.

Just don't give up!
