Chapter 1: New Beginnings The sun shone brightly over the bustling halls of Crestwood High as I, Ciena, navigated through the throngs of students. It was my first day of senior year, and the excitement buzzed in the air like electricity. But amidst the chatter and laughter, I felt a pang of anxiety. Would this year be different? Nathaniel turned to me, a hint of surprise in his eyes. “I'm just looking out for people who can't defend themselves,” he replied, his tone softening. “And I don't think anyone should be bullied.” I crossed my arms, trying to maintain my tough exterior. “Well, maybe some of us can handle our own battles.” He chuckled, and I felt my cheeks heat up. “Maybe, but it never hurts to have someone watch your back.” As the days passed, Nathaniel continued to help Minerva whenever she...........
